10 Dimensions
Inspired by Escher, I created this artwork that shows interconnected facades of old buildings that defy their age with bright colours. The distinctions between the sky, the floor, the stairs are also not discernible. The illusion makes it difficult for us to know the clear demarcations between the buildings, the elements that surround them, and enhanced their interconnectedness. The painting can be a symbol of interconnectedness - a core value that we all must imbibe, learning from our hard times. I call this painting 10 Dimensions since I have shown all of the directions in it- north, south, east, west, north-east, north-west, south-east, south-west up (the sky), and down (the floor).
