The Liberation

Material Used/Technique: Stoneware clay art and glazes 

The first image shows a set of four ceramic tiles that show a bird's ascension to her freedom. I used a variety of glazes and also broken pieces of glass bangles to colour the bird's feathers, with a crackle effect.

The second is a wall plate with an Indian Goddess - Durga, but the pieces developed cracks during the process of firing. Inspired by the Japanese technique of Kintsugi, I fixed my broken tiles using gold leaf with the idea of embracing flaws and imperfections.
